The Team

The key members of the ValuConsult Team comprise property professionals who are members of the Australian Property Institute (API), the Australian Valuers Institute (AVI) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).


Joseph Lee

AAPI, CPV, LEA

Principal / Senior Valuer / Property Advisor

Joseph has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree and a Graduate Diploma in Property (Distinction). He is an Associate Member of the Australian Property Institute, a Certified Practising Valuer and a Licensed Estate Agent.

Joseph gained his valuation and property consulting experience from first a Malaysian property group between June 2003 to April 2006 and then from an Australian national valuation group from August 2006 to August 2008. Joseph’s experience primarily included valuation of industrial, commercial and retail properties and englobo land; development feasibility; and identifying/sourcing good value properties for foreign clients. Currently, he undertakes valuations of residential, retail, commercial, industrial and vacant land for private individuals, solicitors, accountants, companies and other organizations, and also for private lenders (on a contract basis). Joseph also provides consultancy on property development and project feasibility, as well as advocacy for property buyers and vendors.

Prior to his property-related career Joseph held positions that range from Sales Engineer, Sales Manager (Projects) to General Manager, Executive Director and Managing Director for circa 12 ½ years in Malaysia and 6 ½ years in Australia. These positions were in organisations (that included multi-national and public-listed companies) involved in manufacturing, trading, import-export, distribution and retail services.


John Katsis

AAPI, CPV, AAVI

Associate Senior Valuer

John is a Certified Practicing Valuer and a member of both the Australian Property Institute and the Australian Valuers Institute, with a degree in Business majoring in Banking & Finance and Postgraduate qualifications in Property.

John's background is in the Banking & Finance industry having worked in numerous roles with Westpac Banking Corporation since graduating, as well as paralegal roles with large national legal firms specialising in mortgage work on behalf of numerous lenders. .

John' commenced his valuation career working side by side with the director of a small valuation company for nine years gaining experience in valuing properties across different property classes for various purposes. John takes pride in providing unbiased advice and ensures full communication and transparency with clients during the valuation process.

John specialises in:

  • Setting of reserve prices for vendors intending to sell and providing independent current market valuations for purchasers looking to buy.
  • Development valuations on an "As Is" and "Gross Realisation" basis including feasibiliy analysis.
  • Family Law / Matrimonial valuations
  • Retrospective valuations for Capital Gains Tax / GST and Stamp Duty purposes.
  • Insurance replacement cost valuations for Owners Corporations.

William Lee

Business and Financial Advisor (Financial Markets & Property Development)

William brings his vast business and financial experience to clients who require more than just property advice. He is actively involved with the business of buying and selling distressed properties where the relationship is usually of a ‘win-win’ nature where the property owners are given the opportunity to protect their credit rating and have a second chance of rebuilding their finances.

Included amongst the many hats he wears and has worn are:

  • William was the CEO and Company Secretary of a group of Companies that manages more than 700 serviced apartments in the Melbourne CBD.
  • He has more that 18 years of experience in the hospitality sector specialising in Sustainability Programs.
  • He was also a consultant to a Hong Kong-based property company with their IPO listing on the ASX. .
  • William and his group of investors successfully completed the development of a $36 million serviced apartment complex in the Melbourne CBD, which is now owned and managed by the Fraser Group.  
  • He and his group of investors had been granted the planning permit to construct an 8-level residential complex in the CBD and another large iconic development in the Doncaster Hill precinct. Both these projects were later sold to an international property development conglomerate..
  • William now prides himself as a Social Entrepreneur with a simple mission of training and coaching people to acquire the valuable lifelong skill as a trader of the financial markets with a proprietary system he developed.


Victor Lim

Consultant Valuer & Advisor (Retail)

Victor is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor, Registered Valuer and Estate Agent (MIEA). He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Estate Management from the University of South Bank United Kingdom and a Diploma in Business Studies, United Kingdom. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; Institute of Revenue, Rating and Valuation, United Kingdom; Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and Institute of Commercial Management, United Kingdom.

He has broad experience in the real estate industry spanning more than 34 years within the areas of property valuation, property management, retail leasing, shopping centre management, international estate agency, education and training.
